Nativity play three Kings Nadagama as preparation for Midnight Mass of 2005
THE Parishioners of Kirimetiyagara have banded themselves together to Revive the famous Three Kings Nadagama Drama Raja Thun Kattuwa along with Swarnavahini TV channel on December 24 at 9.30 p.m. till Midnight Mass. This is a four-hour live Telecast.

The famous Passion play village in Germany perform the Passion play of Christ once every 10 years. All actors are from the village.

Kirimetiyagara Parish is building up a tradition of Parish Dramas.

In 2004 legion of Mary collaborated with Sirasa TV performed a massive Passion play in 2005 Good Friday.

The traditional crucifixion was accompanied with meditation and dramatic skits in relation the seven words of the cross highlighting to day-to-day living.

The 2005 Christmas Nativity play Raja Thun Kattuwa is popularly performed in Chilaw and Duwa Negombo Traditional Annual performance is not continued in Chilaw and Duwa.

Jackson Anthony from Kirimetiyagara Parish is spearheading the television crew of 145 Technical staff for this live telecast.

The famous nativity play Raja Thun Kattuwa in Sinhala the Nadagama tradition is observed in the traditional performances and singing style Carol Carts is a traditional method of singers and musicians singing carol and touring the village.

At the end of the Christmas Nadagama, three carts will bring in singers and musicians including Latha Walpola and Nanda Malini.

At the end of the two-hour preparation, Bishop Marius Peiris will say the Midnight mass and will try to make Christmas meaningful to non-Catholics . A total of 164 children dressed as angels will come up to the open air stage as Herod gives orders for children to be massacred.

The Kandy National Seminary brothers will join the Parish Choir and the Orchestra.

The first copy of the Sinhala text of Raja Thun Kattuwa will be handed over to Bishop Marius Peiris on December 24 who will celebrate the Midnight Mass at Kirimetiyagara.
