« on: August 09, 2006, 12:08:05 AM »
LTTE terrorists have exploded a bomb in the capital of Sri Lanka targeting a veteran Tamil parliamentarian at 2.50 p.m today (Tuesday the 8th of August).

The location of the attack as chosen by the LTTE terrorists is in front of the St. Paul's Convent, one of the leading Girls' Schools in Colombo.

It is suspected the prey of the attack was Mr.S. Sivadasan who was a veteran Tamil Parliamentarian of Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP). According to the latest reports the bomb has been exploded inside the vehicle (A Van) in which the EPDP members were traveling.

The police suspect that the attack was to be another suicide bomber attack of the LTTE.

Two including a child have been killed and seven others injured in the bomb attack.

The child of 3 years of age unfortunately met with this fatal incident whilst she was walking wayside with her mother. It is further reported that the mother also received serious injuries due to this explosion.

Seven injured persons including Mr. S. Sivadasan has been rushed to the General hospital in Colombo.

The LTTE in its quest for becoming the "Sole Representative" of the Tamil community in the country has been in the process of eliminating all the alternative Tamil political parties since its inception through violent means.

The EPDP, a political party that represents the rights of the Tamil-speaking people in Sri Lanka has been the most feared by the LTTE leadership as threat to his tyrannical claims over Tamil community.
