All of you who sit in front of a computer for long hours must realise that it is a strain on your eyes. What are these?

1. Glare and if you are too close to the screen even radiation.
Solution is to sit at a comfortable distance and enlarge the font.
Screen filters maybe of use. LCD screens arre much better. Set the
resolution and brightness carefully.

2. Eye muscle tension. TO avoid this, take a break and look as far as
possible. An exercise that is often described is to look at the tip of
a pen or pencil at the distance of your nose ant hen look at something
far away as possible for 30 seconds and repeat this. (near-far jumps)

3. Close your eyes and move them maximally in all directions.

4. Avoid working in darkness with only the monitor on. There should be
a evenly lit room

5. Whenever possible bath your eyes (while closed) with water - cool
or warm depending what you "feel"

Vitamins A, C and E are also necessary for your eyes. These are
available in most vegetables and fresh fruit.
To avoid neck pain, back pain, prostatitis, RSI it is a matter of
correct tables, chairs, posture, positioning of hands and wrists and
to get up from your seat for thirty seconds every 30 minutes and
stretch!

Prevention is better than cure.
