The Garden
(woodstock '69 - revisited)

Good vibrations all around,
Makes you feel glad.
Neighbors are always friendly,
Make me a happy man.

Mary Jane keeps rolling,
Throwing smoke around.
Think you are in a heavenly garden,
Yea! At least itís out of this world

Heavens open with freedom,
Fish will beg for war,
Sly will take you higher,
Slicís one of the stars

Who will dash the guitar?
And who has thrown it way
Moon was still there,
Banging the drums away

When Hendrix plays the anthem,
The guitar comes alive.
Time to hit the dirt road,
And trek back to your life

Fanfare from a bleeding heart

Good bye my love it's hard to leave
when the summer is at its peak.
I met you after a year
there is sunshine in the air.
I wish I could still be there.
Good bye my gals, my little ones.
You will never know the sadness in a father's heart
I'm happy that you two will be still in your class
To miss my tears when I leave.
The vacations is near its end,
It is time to pack my bags again
The big jet will fly me to my land,
An empty home far away.
Don't know when I can see your radiant ways

There is fun, there is love, there is hope in our lives
But the minutes spent together are the most treasured ones

Very sad.  I can remember how I felt when I got the same experience once. That was the memories of the past. I wish I never get it again.

You are a real poet.!!!

Approach of the Winter

When the heart is at its tender during the spring, you wandered by.
The heat of the mid summerís sun burnt us together in life.
Now in the fall of our lives we gather what we sowed in spring and wonder
At our daughters and how they have entered their own spring in life
Yellowing trees and falling leaves is, but a reminder
That the harsh winter is about to set
We may have few days left
Before the falling snow will berry us in
To our great hibernation and beyond
As the days become longer
And the years pass in a flash
Hope this world will give us some time to be together
As we did in our own spring times
When the winter is over,
My name will be an epitaph in a cold tombstone
A faceless name forgotten by time
Even to our own offspring

Antarctic Storm

Basking in the sun light
Temperature is minus nine
The chilly wind cuts into bone
Flying with the speed of sound

Loose snow flies around
Making halos in the sky
Gigantic structures arise
To be flattened to their sides

Tents have disappeared
The Wind Socksí alight
Hunting seals are no where in sight
The whales are in a deep dive

Fish has blown aground
To the penguins delight
Just another day break had begun
Under the Helium Hole in Antarctic ice.

Weli,
These poetic thoughts of yours, did capture my heart and soul,
was trapped in them, until I realise it ws almost time for me to catch the last bus home
read them all,
Admire your poetry the free style verses are amazingly threaded, they flow immensely creating a sharp image in the reader's mind

Week ends and rainy days is  my favorite so far
(well in reality I luv week ends and just long for rainy, gloomy days)

Black Hole

Iím waiting my dear
In the sky above your gaze
A zillion light years away
But you wouldnít see

The light donít dissipate
Absorbs all that passes by
Even time warps around,
The Black Hole in space

You can never see my face
Even with the biggest telescope
You will ever assemble in space
Only guess that I'm there
Looking into your eye!
Yes!!! And your life

Weli,
Your writings are excellent and interested to read for any one. Most of areas of your writings love  to be alone with my mind. You have used excellent sense of words to see the real life of a man, which are around us in this earth. Depiction of what you made is, indeed very high & sensitive. That much, those are capturing to our heart and soul.
As you said in last poem -Black Hole-, ďEven With The Biggest Telescope, You Can Never See My FaceĒ, That Is A Real Truth Of This Life. Millions of meaningful sounds on it with a hide act.
Keep on writing with your eye concentrate sound. Wish you all the best my friend.

Yes Weli, some times you may be correct. But I'm not so sure about it.

Your poem gives me so many meanings in life. Like to see some more poems like this.

Who cares for Vanni Children?

Low flying jets that roar
With After Burners in the dusk, that glow
Technology at its best in a sleek flying machine
Death and Destruction, is all you represent

Children of Vanni fear your roar,
Aiming for the Tiger Nest! you go
A fraction of an error in your human input
It's the innocent civilians, that will perish

No one takes the blame when the young die,
Just few numbers that adds to the final pie
The tired old mechanic who fixed the bomb
Forgot to tighten the nut that held it to the wing.

Closer to the school the bomb dislodged.
Arced into a classroom that was in session
The carnage took no seconds, when the bomb explode
Arm and limbs scatter in the crater, where the school once stood.

Million angry voices will raise against the Government
Air Forceís Court of Inquiry will ground the Pilot
Hundreds of young Tamils will join the Tigers.
But Mechanic will go on servicing the Bombers.

Hope this will never happen!

Plains of pain and delight

Rolling plains that rolls on, for ever.
Kissing the sky, in distant horizon
A wondering heart that longs to belong
With nothing but the wind that blows

Scorched earth, brown in colour
Grass and weeds, swaying in wind
Reminds me of tunes, to which I once danced
In an era thatís gone by!

Dried up riverbed with puddles of mud
Humming of insects attracted by water
Dance near the remaining pools
Like little children playing in a field

Greying sky, a fore warning of thunder
That will awaken, this plains in Green
And will make the land to harvest
Once again in the circle of life.

I was here and I was there
Flowing with the wind, but was not aware,
That life is too short
To see all of these plains

Love song in a blown up world

Songs of a distant past
Harmonises with the blowing wind
Hands of the lovers entangle
Minds of the enlightened meet
Illusions of the passing years
Lingers on for another day
Weapons of the enraged foes
Fire at will and kill all life
Human Bombs, rule the day
Humiliating the Kamikaze Dead
Where are we heading? no one knows
Paranoid kings order innocent deaths

Thanks Jeewaka.

I was out with my gal on Koti Friday way back in July '83. Had to walk home all the way from Union Place as buses stoped running. There were no exploding bombs but maurading crowed were out hunting for Tamils that day.

Welcome your encouragements.

White Waters

A millennia ago when the snow melted
It took the top crust of the mountain
Leaving the bare rock out crops
Forming it into a steep decent,
For the river to wind down in Rapids.

The Dinos hunted in the back yards
In those years gone by.
Then came the mammals
Crossing it at low tides.

Now humans play with little rafters
Risking their lives for the trills.
Yet little they know of the secrets
That buries under these rapidly flowing water
