Title: Microsoft Say's Good bye to Windows 2000
Post by: Sachitha on July 30, 2005, 03:32:14 PM
As mainstream support for the Windows 2000 operating system ends, Microsoft has released 50+ "high-priority" fixes for the OS.

Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, was released earlier this week by Microsoft, just days before mainstream support for the OS ends today (June 30).

The rollup includes fixes issued between SP4 and April 30, 2005, and also contains a variety of fixes not included in previous releases. It has been released as a "high priority" update from Window Update and a new Windows 2000 update website is being deployed for users over the next few months.

While mainstream support for Windows 2000 ends today, customers can pay a fee to get extended support through June 30, 2010, while security hotfixes will remain free to all through March 31, 2010.
