You might have definitely seen some web service providers advertising
that they provide "unlimited web space and unlimited bandwidth / data
transfer rate" for their clients.
But, practically this is totally impossible and
they are misusing the lesser knowledge the clients have on web services.
To be precise, this is a total myth !
It is impossible for any provider to actually provide an unlimited
amount of bandwidth or disk space.
Web space / disk space is the space you allocate on the hard disk
of the web server in order to store your web site.
Bandwidth or the data transfer rate is an amount available for
you to transfer web pages from the web server to the browser of your
client.
Your web service provider will be assigning and defining the limits and
those limits are for a month or any other defined time period.
For an example:
Data transfer rate or the bandwidth depends on the total data
transferring capacity of your web server or the web site. Each time you
visit a web site, you are creating traffic, because in order to view
that web page on your computer, the web page is first downloaded to your
computer (between the web site and you) and then
display it using your browser software (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Netscape,
etc.)
The total data transfer rate or the bandwidth is measured as the total
weight of data (words, text, images, scripts and others) transmitted
from your web site to the temporary internet folder of the client
through their web browsers and the entire internal FTP, downloading and
related activities done as the administrator, within a certain time
period.
The bandwidth of your service provider is determined by their network
connection.
Similar to the data transfer rate, there are limitations for the hard
disk of the web server as well. The hard drive of a web server has a
limited amount of space determined by the physical size of the hard
drive. It is a portion of the resources of the main web server which
your service provider vends. It's a limited segment of the web service
company's main web server and you pay for the amount you purchase.
Thus, naturally both data transfer rate and the
disk space have to adhere to the physical limitations. Because your
service provider's main server is a developed and improved physical
computer only.
It's impossible to expect a limitless service
from a physical machine.
Because the machine provides the service within its physical limits and
those limits can exceed at any point of time.
Although some web service providers advertise on "unlimited web space
and unlimited bandwidth", if you take a look at their Terms of
Service (TOS), policies, restrictions and other limitations, there
will be a specification on what this "unlimited" really means. Otherwise
they would have their own definitions for them. These "attractive,
unlimited plans" are just a marketing trick and no service provider is
able to provide unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth within the
physical limits.

දැන්වීම් ඔබ දැක ඇති..
නමුත්,
ප්රායෝගිකව බැලූ කල මෙය වෙබ් සේවාවන් (web services) සහ සම්පත්
(resources) පිළිබඳව ග්රාහකයින් තුළ වූ අල්ප දැනුම මනා ලෙස උපයෝගී කරගෙන

ඉඩ ලබාදිය හැක්කේ යම්කිසි සීමාවක් දක්වා පමණි.
ඔබගේ සේවා සපයන්නා විසින් ඔබ වෙත "මුදලට අලෙවි කරනු ලබන්නේ" එම සමාගමට අයත්
ප්රධාන සේවාදායකය (main web server) සතු සමස්ථ ශක්තියෙන් (resources)

ඒනයින් බැලූ කල මේ වෙබ් ඉඩකඩ (web hosting) සහ දත්ත සංසරණ අනුපාතය (data
transfer rate/ bandwidth) නිතැතින් ම භෞතික (physically) වශයෙන් සීමාවන්ට

වන විට දී තදබදය හේතුවෙන් තරමක් අපහසුතාවයට පත් වේ. එසේ නම් පැටවිය හැකි
සමස්ථ ප්රමාණය ඉක්මවීමේ දී මගීන් සියළු දෙනාම පාහේ දැඩි අපහසුතාවයකට ලක්
වීම නොවැළැක්විය හැක්කකි.. මෙහිදී ද සනාථ වන්නේ, ඕනෑම භෞතික වස්තුවක හෝ
යන්ත්රයක් සතුව උපරිම ධාරිතාවක් වන බව යි.
ඇතැම් වෙබ් සේවා පහසුකම් සපයන්නන්, අසීමිතව වෙබ් ඉඩකඩ (unlimited web
space) සහ අසීමිත දත්ත සංසරණ අනුපාතය (unlimited data transfer rate/
bandwidth) සපයන්නේ යැයි ග්රාහකයින්ට දැන්වුව ද, එම සේවාදායකයින්ගේ
ආයතනික නීති රීති සහ කොන්දේසි (terms, restrictions,
limitations, rules or fair user policies) පිරික්සීමේ දී
මේ "අසීමිත වෙබ් ඉඩ (unlimited web hosting) සහ දත්ත
සංසර්ණ අනුපාතය" (unlimited data transfer rate/ bandwidth) පිළිබඳව ඇති
තතු අවබෝධ කරගත හැකිය.

හොඳින් හෝ නරකින් බසයෙන් යම් මොහොතක අතරමග බස්වනවා ඇත.
